Can I enroll at Athens State as a first-year college student?
No. Athens State is an upper-division school, meaning we offer only courses at junior and senior levels for transfer students.
How can I find out if my college credits will transfer to Athens State?
As a school that exclusively serves graduate students and transfer students at the undergraduate level, we’re very accommodating to transfer credits from other institutions. Take a look at our Credit Transfer Guide to find out which credits are eligible for transfer to Athens State.
How long will it take to find out if I have been accepted to Athens State?
After you’ve successfully completed and submitted your application, you should hear from the admissions team with a decision within 24 to 48 hours.
Once I enroll in an online program, can I switch to the on-campus program before I graduate?
Absolutely! We want you to have the learning experience that works best for you. So if that means you need to come to campus to succeed, then we will support you as you become an on-campus student. The same goes for students who start on-campus — if you find a need for the flexibility of an online program, we will work with you to switch.
I’m applying for an undergraduate major at Athens State that differs from my major at my last school. Will all my credits still transfer to my new major?
Due to the variety of institutions our students hail from, we can’t give a blanket “yes” or “no” to this question. We review each applicant’s transcripts individually and determine which credits will transfer based on a thorough evaluation.
